Restoration Outpatient Detox accepts referrals from physicians, emergency departments, therapists, employee assistance programs, attorneys and drug courts. Call 678-506-7611 for admissions. We provide medically supervised outpatient withdrawal management at two Georgia locations, license DRUG001419, with clinical oversight from a board-certified psychiatrist.

Who we can take, and who we cannot

What each source usually needs from us
Emergency departments
Post-discharge opioid patients are in the highest-risk window because tolerance has dropped. Call before the patient leaves if you can — we can often see them the same day.
Physicians and prescribers
Patients whose prescription has outgrown its purpose. We manage the taper and coordinate back with you rather than taking the patient over.
Therapists and counselors
Clients who cannot engage in therapy while in active withdrawal. We handle the detox and return them to you.
EAPs and employers
An hour a day after the first visit, with evening and weekend appointments. Employees generally do not need extended leave. See detox for professionals.
Attorneys and courts
Documentation of attendance, participation or completion, released only with the client's written authorization. See court-ordered detox.
Residential programs
Step-down referrals, and we refer to residential care when assessment indicates it. The traffic runs both ways.
What your patient gets
So you know what you are referring into
Clinical leadership. Dr. Bryon McQuirt, board certified in adult and forensic psychiatry, is Psychiatric Medical Director. A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner conducts assessments and prescribes. That combination means co-occurring conditions are managed rather than referred out mid-detox.
Protocol. CIWA scoring for alcohol, COWS for opioids, with doses following the score rather than a fixed calendar. Buprenorphine where clinically appropriate, with induction timed against symptom scores — which matters especially where fentanyl is involved.
Schedule. First visit two to three hours, subsequent visits about an hour, 14 to 21 days typical. Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday mornings.

How do I refer a patient?
Call 678-506-7611 and ask for admissions. Give us the substance, approximate quantity, last use, relevant medical history and insurance. We will tell you during that call whether we can take them and how soon.
What is your response time?
Same business day for referrals received during clinic hours, usually within a couple of hours. If the patient is already in withdrawal, say so and we will treat it as urgent.
What are your admission criteria?
Adults 18 and over with a substance use disorder requiring medically supervised withdrawal, where assessment confirms continuous on-site monitoring is not required, with a stable place to sleep and the ability to attend appointments.
What would make you decline a referral?
Severe alcohol withdrawal risk, a history of withdrawal seizures or delirium tremens, long-term high-dose benzodiazepine dependence, unstable medical or psychiatric conditions requiring continuous monitoring, or an unsafe home. We say so on the call rather than after assessment.
Do you accept emergency department discharges?
Yes, and quickly. Post-ED discharge is one of the highest-risk windows for opioid patients because tolerance has dropped. Call before the patient leaves if you can.
Can you coordinate with the referring provider?
Yes, with the patient's written authorization. Records under 42 CFR Part 2 require specific consent, which we obtain at intake rather than assuming.
