Restoration Outpatient Detox is a licensed outpatient withdrawal management provider with clinics in Woodstock and Hiram, Georgia — license DRUG001419. We manage medically supervised detox from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines and stimulants through scheduled appointments rather than residential admission, with clinical oversight from a board-certified psychiatrist.
What we do
A narrow remit, done properly
We are a detox provider. Not a rehab, not a residential facility, not a full continuum of care. That is a deliberate choice rather than a limitation we are working around.
Withdrawal management is a specific clinical discipline. It involves knowing that alcohol and benzodiazepines can kill you and opioids generally will not, that fentanyl needs different buprenorphine induction timing than oxycodone, that stimulant relapse happens in week two rather than week one. Doing that well is a full job.
What we do not do is pretend to be everything else. When you finish detox you will need what comes next — counselling, an intensive outpatient program, ongoing medication — and we build that plan before you leave rather than handing you a leaflet. See detox vs rehab.
Why outpatient
The barrier was never whether people needed treatment
Residential detox asks you to disappear for a month. For a lot of people that request is the reason they never start — a job that notices, children who need collecting, a manager who would have to be told something.
Outpatient detox removes that. Your first visit is two to three hours; after that it is about an hour a day, and both clinics run 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with Saturday and Sunday mornings. Most people keep working throughout. See what that actually involves.
The clinical work is the same medications and the same protocols. What differs is monitoring intensity, which is exactly why not everyone is suitable and why the assessment decides rather than the patient or us.
Why two clinics
Woodstock and Hiram
The metro splits, and one location would have meant serving half of it badly.
| Clinic | County | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Woodstock | Cherokee | Canton, Acworth, Kennesaw, Holly Springs, Ball Ground, north Cobb |
| Hiram | Paulding | Dallas, Powder Springs, Douglasville, west Cobb, Douglas County |
Paulding County has roughly doubled in population since 2000 and its healthcare infrastructure did not follow. Before the Hiram clinic, the honest answer to where you detox in Paulding was Marietta or Atlanta — 45 minutes each way, during the week you feel worst. That is precisely when people decide to deal with it later. See Paulding County and both locations compared.
Our network
Where people go after detox
We do one thing. What makes that workable rather than limiting is that the next stages sit within reach.
Hope Harbor Wellness
Addiction-focused outpatient care in Hiram — PHP, IOP, medication-assisted treatment and dual diagnosis, including virtual IOP. Joint Commission accredited.
Hooked on Hope
Mental health primary, in the same building as our Hiram clinic. PHP, IOP and outpatient therapy for people whose leading diagnosis is psychiatric rather than substance use.
West Georgia Wellness Center
Residential mental health and substance use treatment, for situations where outpatient care is not realistic.
These are related organizations, and we will say so rather than presenting a referral as neutral advice. We refer within the network where it fits clinically and outside it where it does not. See what happens after detox.
Clinical leadership
A psychiatrist running a detox program is not the default
Most detox facilities are medically directed by a physician with no psychiatric training. That is adequate for managing withdrawal in isolation — and withdrawal is rarely in isolation.
Dr. Bryon McQuirt is board certified in adult and forensic psychiatry and trained in trauma assessment through LSU's Victims of Violence Program. A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner conducts assessments and prescribes daily. That combination is why anxiety, depression and trauma get treated alongside the withdrawal rather than referred out and forgotten.
How we operate
Three things we hold to
We tell you when outpatient is not safe. Severe alcohol withdrawal, long-term high-dose benzodiazepine dependence, a previous withdrawal seizure, an unstable home — any of those means inpatient care. We would rather lose the admission than put somebody into a setting that cannot hold them.
We give you a number before you commit. Benefits verified free on the first call, with an actual figure rather than a range. We will not publish a price and you should be wary of anyone who does, because plan terms vary too much for a webpage number to mean anything.
We build what comes next before you finish. Detox alone has a poor track record. The step-down plan is made while you are still in treatment, not handed over at the door.

Common questions
About Restoration, answered
What is Restoration Outpatient Detox?
A licensed outpatient withdrawal management provider with clinics in Woodstock and Hiram, Georgia. License DRUG001419. We manage medically supervised detox from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines and stimulants through scheduled appointments rather than an overnight stay.
Are you a rehab?
No. We are a detox provider. Detox manages physical withdrawal; rehab addresses why the substance use started. We do the first and build the plan for the second — see detox vs rehab.
Why two locations?
Because the metro splits. Woodstock serves Cherokee County and north Cobb; Hiram serves Paulding, Douglas and west Cobb. Before Hiram opened, anyone in Paulding needing detox drove to Marietta or Atlanta.
Who runs the clinical side?
Dr. Bryon McQuirt, a board-certified adult and forensic psychiatrist, is our Psychiatric Medical Director. A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner conducts assessments and prescribes. See our clinical team.
Why does psychiatric leadership matter for detox?
Because withdrawal is rarely the only thing happening. Most detox facilities are medically directed by a physician with no psychiatric training, which is adequate for withdrawal in isolation and inadequate for the anxiety, depression or trauma underneath it.
Do you take everyone?
No, and that matters. Severe alcohol withdrawal, long-term high-dose benzodiazepine dependence, a previous withdrawal seizure, or an unsafe home all mean inpatient care. We say so at assessment and help find a bed.
Are you accredited?
We are licensed by the State of Georgia, DRUG001419. That license is displayed on every page of this site rather than buried.
How is this paid for?
Most major insurance. We verify benefits free on the first call and give you an actual figure before you commit to anything.
